RIP, Alan Horder

Here at The New Saints Of Oswestry Town, we were extremely sorry to hear the news this week that Alan Horder has passed away.

Known to all of us, if not by name but certainly by function, as Mr. Legea, Alan will be sadly missed by everyone at the club.

We would like to extend our most sincere sympathies to Alan’s family and friends.

Our Chief Operating Officer, Ian Williams, paid his own personal tribute to Alan:

It’s with great sadness that I  convey my deepest sympathy to the family of our technical kit supplier Alan Horder, who sadly passed away on Monday evening.

As a mark of respect there will be a minute’s silence before the game on Friday at home to Connah’s Quay Nomads and our players and staff will wear black armbands.

I’ve personally known Alan for almost 15 years, all through my time at the club. He was instrumental in establishing our relationship with our Italian Technical Sponsor Legea for which I will be forever grateful and was always on hand to deal with any challenge I put to him, and believe me there were many!

Over the years we established a great friendship and nothing was ever to much trouble for him. I visited his new showroom and warehouse in Treforest, for which he was very proud, on many occasions travelling back from FAW meetings in Cardiff, we would share a cuppa and we would always have a chat about the club and his true passion for it and I know how proud he was being associated with us.

He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him, he was a great friend.

Alan Horder RIP
