Draws All Round For The Professional Phase

Report by Steve Benyon.

On Wednesday January 10th, 14 of the Professional Phase players faced Newcastle-Under-Lyme away in the ECFA Category 1 League.

The game started at a frantic pace, with the players playing some nice football on a heavy pitch and we were rewarded with a goal from Lewis Kaye to go into the break 1-0.

Unfortunately we never hit the same heights in the second half, and allowed a soft equaliser from the penalty spot.

The boys however defended heroically at times, and should have really won the game through two counter attacks, but the game finished 1-1.

Training topic this week is ‘beating the block’, with Caernarfon Town away on Sunday our next game.

The home squad played Crewe in a friendly and secured a 3-3 draw, through goals from Cal Routley and Darren Evans. There were lots of promising comments from coaches Simon and Kieran.
