Following the failure of Bala Town to beat Connah’s Quay Nomads this evening, without even kicking a ball The New Saints of Oswestry Town have been crowned JD Welsh Premier League (JD WPL) champions for the seventh consecutive season.
The Nomads’ victory at Maes Tegid means that the Lakesiders, the only team that could have overtaken Scott Ruscoe’s side at the top of the table, are now unable to topple the league leaders.
Ex-TNS striker Mike Wilde’s 63rd minute goal was all that separated the sides at the final whistle, as the game ended Bala Town 0 Connah’s Quay Nomads 1.
The 2017/2018 JD WPL champions will be in action this coming Sunday at Park Hall, where Cefn Druids are the visitors. The game, televised on S4C with a 13.59 p.m. kick-off time, will see The New Saints of Oswestry Town officially crowned champions.
Don’t miss out on the occasion, see you there. Admission is £8.00 for adults with concessions £4.00 and children £1.00.
