gap Connah’s Quay v The New Saints FC – Match Preview
On Tuesday (March 21) TNS travel to Flintshire to take on the third-placed team in the Dafabet Welsh Premier League, gap Connah’s Quay.
This is a rearranged fixture from earlier in the season that was postponed, due to TNS’ Irn-Bru Cup involvement north of the English border.
Going into tomorrow’s game – which has a 7.45 pm kick-off time – although just one club separates the teams in the table, the statistics from a TNS perspective are quite impressive.
Both have played 27 times in the Dafabet WPL, yet the gulf is 26 points. Although the Nomads have the second-best goal difference in the league – just one ahead of second-placed Bala Town – their difference of +19 is overshadowed by TNS’ +74.
With five games to go (including this one), the reigning champions have scored a total of 91 goals so far this season. Although no-one at the club would be presumptuous or get carried away, neverthess with a current average of 3.37 goals per game, there is every reason to be cautiously optimistic of hitting what would be a very impressive century.
Current form in the Dafabet WPL shows TNS on a return of 100% points from the last five league games, while The Nomads have turned their corner with back-to-back victories following just one point from the previous three games.
