TNS Academy Weekend Round-Up Includes A Visit To Finch Farm

This weekend has again been a fantastic one for The New Saints FC Academy, with all age groups in action.

On Saturday our U7/10/11s welcomed Flint Town Academy to Park Hall Stadium prior to our first team fixture in the JD Welsh Cup against Llanelli Town AFC.

Our U15s travelled to face Wirral Schools.

On the road at Finch Farm

On Sunday we welcomed Chester and Rhyl to the home of the Dafabet Welsh Premier League Champions for games.

However, the Academy fixtures of the weekend  belonged to our U8s and U9s, who travelled to Finch Farm to face English Premier League giants Everton.

A great weekend was had by one and all

Both age groups were a credit to themselves and the club with their outstanding performances, both individually and collectively as a team.

Afterwards, Lead Foundation Phase Coach Jason Brindley said:

“It was a great weekend for all involved at the club. It was great on Saturday to see our youngest age group, the Under 7s, in action, showing off what they have been learning in training and applying it in matches. Also, it was fantastic to see the Academy support our first team in the JD Welsh Cup against Llanelli Town AFC.

On Sunday our 8s and 9s travelled to face Everton, providing another fantastic opportunity and experience for our youngsters. It shows the strength of the Academy and club as a whole that we are attracting this level of fixture and competing on a consistent level”
