The former TNS goalkeeper Gerard Doherty, has been called into the Northern Ireland squad for Wednesday night’s friendly fixture against Malta.
Doherty, who is now 31, joined the Saints from Derby County in 2001 and went on to make 146 Welsh Premier appearances over seven seasons.
He skippered the side and lifted three Welsh Premier titles in successive seasons as well as the FAW Premier Cup and the Welsh Cup.
The Ulsterman also played seven times in Europe for the Oswestry based side, during which he impressed against the then European Champions, Liverpool.
The keeper left TNS in January 2008 to sign for Derry City.
