The New Saints Under 19 side picked up another trophy after thrashing Llanidleos Town 6-1 in the final of the Central Wales Cup.
The Saints started confidently and took the lead when Liam Walker converted after good work from Taylor James.
TNS doubled their lead shortly after as Liam Walker met a brilliant cross from Jack Welsh and coolly added his second of the game.
Welsh then made it three. Having just made the second goal, the midfielder smashed a powerful shot on target, which could only be parried into the goal, to make it TNS three, Llanidleos Town nil.
The second half began in the same fashion with Steve Evans’ side confidently passing the ball around and creating lots of chances. Lewis Edwards who had only just come on added the fourth. The New Saints Under 19 side were running riot and within moments it was five nil after Sam Prince added his name to the score sheet, thanks to some great work from Dan Weir.
With the trophy all but secured, Llanidloes Town then scored a fantastic goal from the halfway line which had everyone cheering.
However, the superb Saints finished off the match with another goal when Connor Rogers slotted in to make it TNS six, Llanidleos Town one.
Steve Evans was understandably delighted after the match and said, ‘I am really happy with the lads. We thoroughly deserved the win and it was a great professional performance. Both Gordon Evans and I are very happy with the team and winning this trophy is the perfect end to what has been a fantastic season.’
