The New Saints Under
Details of Match on Sunday 14th July at The Venue
Score = 1-2 (11 v 11)
Scorer= Jack Vale
With several late withdrawals from the squad, coach Craig Edwards fielded three under 12 players in an evenly contested affair.
It was Airbus who opended the game well, they kept the ball for long periods and had several shots on goal. With half time approaching Jack Vale was beginning to show his class down the right and Sam Jones was beginning to stamp his authority in midfield, it was with his surging run through the middle that saw TNS awarded a freekick in a dangerous position, up stepped Jack Vale and unleashed a powerfull shot into the top left hand corner, giving the Airbus keeper no chance.
Half time 1-0
The second half belonged to the young saints and they could of extended the lead but for the heroics of some last ditch tackles and fine saves. The games was drawn level with some sloppy play from the back and a lose pass fell to a thankful airbus player…With the game heading for a stalemate and some more sloppy play down the left Airbus sealed the win with the simplist of chances with just 1 minute left on the clock.
Manager of TNS was slightly dissapointed with the loss, but more than happy with the contribution from Robert Johnson, Jack Aplin and Owen Cartwirght from the under 12s, who responded well to the opportunity given.

Some good play form the TNS boys, compact and switched on from the start on a small sided pitch saw take the lead from that man again Jack Vale direct from a set piece. The lead was soon doubled after a neat move that involved Sam Jones in the heart of the midfield. All seemed to be going well when another unforced error let Airbus back into the game. But it was the boys from TNS that pushed on again and after some good play from Owen Cartwright and Jack Aplin the defence of Airbus where at sixes and seven with resulted in a own goal, but vcredit must go to the two boys from Callum William’s TNS under 12s.
