TNS will take on the Middlesbrough Reserves on Tuesday the 6th of August. The match will kick off at 14:00pm and will be played at the clubs training ground, Rockcliffe Park.
Craig Harrison will take his side ‘back home’ as he prepares his players for a pre-season friendly with English Championship side, Middlesbrough.
The Director of Football came through the ranks at The Smoggies and broke into the first team aged only 19. The former defender made his debut for ‘Boro against Barnet in an English Football League Cup victory and helped his side reach a second successive final in the then named Coca-Cola Cup.
Craig’s debut season was a huge success. During the end of season awards, he was voted the Players Young Player of the Year and also won the Fans Player of the Year, which really showed how highly rated he was at The Riverside Stadium.
The Gateshead born Harrison, went onto make another 25 first team appearances that season and was part of the squad that helped the Teesiders achieve promotion to the English Premier League, during the 1997/1998 campaign.
The following season, he went on to make another six appearances for Middlesbrough as well as helping Preston North End reach the Football League Second Division playoffs during a seven game loan spell.
In total, Harrison played 31 times for the club before joining London based, Crystal palace in August, 2000.
TNS will travel to Middlesbrough next Tuesday but before the trip up north, The Saints will face Colwyn Bay. The friendly at Llanelian Road will kick off at 15:00pm on Saturday.
