The TNS Under 16’s beat Rhyl 8-0 thanks to goals from Matt Perry, Cal Graybrook and braces from Lewis Evans, George Minshall and Tom Ash.
The tempo and transitions between the lines were outstanding and the result has put the boys in a great position for the next game, which is an away trip to Bala.
The winning squad consisted of Antoni Sarnowski, Jack Bates, Lee Killen, Matt Perry, Matt Bainbridge, Greg Evans, Tom Birch, Cal Graybrook, Lewis Evans, George Minshall, Ross Tyler,Andy Wycherley, Sam Gostage and Tom Ash.
The TNS Under 14’s slipped to an 8-3 defeat against Rhyl.
The Saints started well and Sean Phelan opened the scoring after an excellent through ball from Ricky Williams.
Phelan scored his second goal after a cross Williams’ cross was spilled by the keeper and Phelan reacted quickest to tap into the empty net.
TNS continued to pass the ball around the pitch and Rob Reynolds scored The Saints’ third goal, firing in from close range after some excellent work from full back Aron Jones.
However, Rhyl came back into the game and ended the first half level after scoring three goals.
Ten minutes into the second half, Rhyl took the lead. The Saints were under a lot of pressure and Rhyl scored four more goals to complete the scoring.
TNS kept looking to play football and managed to create some excellent chances but were unable to get back on level terms.
