The TNS Under 16’s beat Porthmadoc 4-0 thanks to goals from Cal Graybrook, Ross Tyler, Lee Killen and Nash Mwamuka.
All four goals came in the second half and Steve Benyon was full of praise for his side after the match, ‘There were lots of positives to take from the game. Next week we will see play the North West Elite Academy, before taking on a Manchester Select team the following week.’
The squad that beat Porthmadoc consisted of Ant Sarnowski, Jack Bates, Matt Perry, Lee Killen, Matt Bainbridge, Greg Evans, Tom Birch, Cal Graybrook, Tom Ash, Lewis Evans, Sam Gostage, Andy Wycherley, Harrison Millington, Nash Mwamuka and Ross Tyler.
The match between the North West Elite Academy and The New Saints will take place at Park Hall stadium.
The TNS Under 14’s beat Portmadog Under 14’s 8-2 thanks to goals from Billy Minshall, James Lloyd a brace from Rob Reynolds and an excellent four goal haul from Sean Phelan.
The Saints started brightly and went a goal up after only ten minutes thanks to the impressive Phelan.
Soon after, Phelan doubled his tally before the visitors pulled a goal back.
The side from Gwynedd then equalised but within moments Phelan completed an excellent hat-trick.
Soon after the break, Phelan scored again. The man of the match made it four two to The Saints by rounding the goalkeeper and slotting into the empty net.
Minshall then got on the score sheet before Lloyd scored to make it six, by lifting the ball over the ‘keeper in a crowded box.
Reynolds scored two goals with the second coming after he beat three Portmadog players before chipping the ‘keeper.
Craig Williams was happy with the performance and said, ‘The lads all played well today and moved the around the pitch well. It was pleasing to see Alex Rowlands play today having been out for a lot of the season through injury. It was a very pleasing performance by the lads today and we will keep working hard in training.’
