James sends Scholars into Final

Walford and North Shropshire College qualified for the Shropshire Schools and Colleges Under 18 County Cup Final today by beating TCAT 4-2 at Llishall National Sports Centre, thanks to a goals from Ryan Kershaw and a an excellent hat-trick from Taylor James.

The Game started slowly with both teams struggling to play with any tempo due to a slow pitch at the former England National Teams training facility, but it was Walford and North Shropshire College who struck first through Kershaw. Telford College soon responded with a curling effort that nestled into the top corner past the outstretched Stewart Evans.
Second half saw TCAT take the lead, which proved to be the wake up call Walford needed. James produced some outstanding football to score a 30 minute hat-trick and send Walford College into the Shropshire Schools and Colleges County Cup Final.
They will face Thomas Telford School, current English Schools National Cup champions after they beat Bridgenorth Sixth Form Partnership by severn goals to nil in the other semi-final.
