Walking Football Takes Off At Park Hall

If you thought your football career was over, think again!

Walking Football, a slower paced version of the game that is aimed at the over 50’s, is gaining rapidly in popularity.  So much so that The New Saints of Oswestry Town ‘s Community Foundation is adding a second weekly session at Park Hall on Thursday evenings accommodate the increasing demand.

The Senior Saints Walking Football sessions will now take place every Monday from 12:30-2pm and every Thursday evening from 8-9pm at Park Hall.

The game sessions are being organised by The New Saints of Oswestry Town‘s Community Foundation, and presents an excellent opportunity for a bit of physical activity.

Shelly McGlinchey runs the sessions at Park Hall and said, ‘The Senior Saints comprises men over the age of 55, giving them a chance to meet new friends and get some exercise whilst having a lot of fun.  With smaller pitches and plenty of breaks, all the normal football rules still apply and everyone is welcome to come along and get involved.  The slower pace doesn’t detract from the competition though and it’s much more than a stroll in the park.’

Come down and give it a go – we’re confident that once you’ve tried it, you’ll love it!
