The New Saints of Oswestry Town continued their unbeaten run in the Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League after beating Aberystwyth Town by four goals to nil at Park Avenue.
Goals from Adrian Cieslewicz and Matty Williams and a brace from Mike Wilde sealed the victory for the Welsh Champions.
With only five minutes gone, Stuart Jones’ header went inches wide as the home side began the game well.
However, The Saints’ first chance of the game resulted in the opening goal after Cieslewicz expertly found the bottom corner. Matty Williams picked out the Polish winger who wrapped his right foot around the ball and wonderfully curled the ball into the bottom corner.
Five minutes later and it was two nil after Jamie Mullan had wonderfully picked out Wilde, who converted from two yards out to give Craig Harrison’s side a two goal advantage.
On the half hour mark it was game over, when Wilde completed his brace. The powerful forward latched on to a great cross from Chris Marriott and headed in to the bottom corner.
The second half continued with TNS dominating the play without really testing Mike Lewis.
The impressive Williams then got amongst the goals after his perfectly placed effort rolled into the bottom corner to give The Saints a four goal lead.
Cieslewicz nearly added a fifth goal with ten minutes to go but his shot flew inches wide of the post.
Geoff Kellaway then broke forward but Kai Edwards caught up with the winger and was able to prevent the former Carmarthen Town player from getting his shot away.
Jamie Reed, Chris Seargeant and Scott Quigley all came on as The Saints cruised to victory as the title looms ever closer.
