Who are Videoton FC?

Videoton Football Club are the current OTP Bank Liga Champions and are based in Székesfehérvár, in the west of FehérvárHungary.

Nicknamed ‘Vidi’ they have won the Hungarian League twice in 2011 and 2015 and the Hungarian Cup once.

They are probably best known Videoton the 1985 UEFA Cup Final where they lost to Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

The club were founded in 1941 and since 1967, play their games at the Sóstói Stadion which has a capacity of 14,000.

The most successful period in Videoton’s history came in the mid-1980s when Ferenc Kovács led the club to the final of the aforementioned UEFA Cup in 1985.

Managed by Portuguese legend, Paulo Sousa, Videoron reached the group stages of the Europa League in the 2012–13 season and played the likes of Trabzonspor, Sporting CP and FC Basel.

The club is owned by István Garancsi and will be managed by Bernard Casoni who took over at the start of the 2015/2016 campaign.

Casoni, a French international who represented his county at the European Championships in 1992 has also managed Olympique Marseille, AS Cannes, SC Bastia and Auxerre.
