At a very wet Conygar Bridge Meadow, TNS were utterly dominant from start to finish and ran out 4-0 winners in the first game of the new WPL season.
Mike Wilde headed against the bar in the opening ten minutes as TNS controlled the opening the stages of the game.
The Saints continued to dominate the ball and with 28 minutes gone, Darlington’s brilliance opened the scoring. The former Wrexham man picked up the ball on the halfway line and skipped past four defenders before slotting the ball in from eight yards out.
Five minutes later and the impressive Darlington was once again involved and it was his excellent pass that picked out Jamie Mullan but the winger chipped the ball over the bar.

The second half began with Scott Quigley’s powerful strike getting blocked before picking out Darlington who headed in to complete his brace and give TNS a 3-0 lead.
Mullan then won a penalty for The Saints which gave Darlington his chance to clinch his hat-trick but Scott James palmed the ball out.

Draper then replaced Wilde and slotted in from six yards out within minutes of entering the pitch to give Craig Harrison’s side a comprehensive 4-0 victory.
