TNS Foundation Host Sport Relief Mile

The New Saints Foundation team welcomed around 70 participants for this year’s Sport Relief run. Runners were aged between six and 70 years old, completing a run of either one mile, three miles or six miles. We even had five brave souls complete the whole mile hula hooping!

The race was opened by the Oswestry Town Mayor, who also decided to run the mile himself. There was live music provided for this charitable event by Mandola hangover from Wrexham helping create a great atmosphere!

Borderland Rotary kindly donated their marshalling services to ensure the route was safe for runners, in addition to rocking horse studios of Oswestry. Sainsbury’s of Oswestry also kindly donated goodie bags to provide to all of our participants.

Naomi Stocker organised the event and said, ‘I’m delighted with how well the day went, we were able to showcase our new football inflatable and we raised money for both Sport Relief, a charity close to our hearts and for the foundation too. I want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who took part to make this our best Sport Relief event yet. Thank you to our volunteers at borderland Rotary, Mondola Hangover, Sainsbury’s and Rocking horse studios. I would also like to thank our team at The Foundation who were a huge support. We hope to build on this event for two years time, to make it bigger and better.’
