Mixed Results For Our Professional Phase Teams

On Wednesday 20th September 2017, a squad  of 12 E1 Professional Phase players travelled to the Fowler Academy in the Liverpool area, for their second ESCFA category 1 League game of the season.

The facility itself is fantastic and TNS got off to an equally impressive start, with a goal from Paul Naylor.

The lead was short-lived though, and as Steve Benyon commented, “Defensive naivety cost us two goals.” However, a wonder-strike from Lewis Kaye ensured that the teams went into the break level at 2-2.

Unfortunately though in the second period, although Paul Naylor found the net again, the team as a whole never really got going.

Four goals conceded in the space of ten minutes – plus a red card – meant that the final score was 6-3 to Fowler Academy.

“We will bounce back and go again on Sunday at home to Prestatyn.” were Benyon’s final comments on the game.

Meanwhile, our E2 team enjoyed a comprehensive 13-0 victory at home to Joseph Chamberlain College, in their first game of the season.

Hat-tricks from Guyguy Maboy, Andrew Papirnyk and Harry Parkinson, with singles from Tom Clarke, Liam Parry, Harley Steel and Scott Williams ensured that 13 was anything but an unlucky number.

As well as the players, a huge well done to coaches Nick and Simon.
