This Friday (December 22 2017) is the second game in the space of four days, as again Park Hall hosts a JD Welsh Premier League fixture. Following on from Tuesday’s win against Connah’s Quay Nomads, this time round it’s the turn of Aberystwyth Town to provide the opposition.
Currently sitting just above the relegation trapdoor – with a three and thirteen points advantage over Prestatyn Town and Carmarthen Town respectively – the Seasiders have picked up eighteen points from seventeen games and have a goal difference of minus six.
On the other hand, The New Saints are currently leading the way at the top with a four-point advantage over Bangor City, plus a game in hand. Speaking to midfielder Jon Routledge though, there will not be any complacency in the side.
“We want to keep winning all the games that we can so hopefully another win. It will be a tough game, they’re all tough games in their own way. We will go out with the same attitude (speaking immediately after the Connah’s Quay victory) and hopefully get the win.”
The sides have already met once this season, as TNS came away from Park Avenue with a slender 2-1 victory, courtesy of Greg Draper’s fourth brace of goals in five games at the time.
It was the home side who went 1-0 up though after a quarter of an hour, with goals within minutes either side of the break that ultimately secured the three points for The New Saints. You can read the match report and listen to the post-match interviews HERE.
The game this Friday is a 7.45 pm kick-off with admission charges £8 / £4 / £1. If you’re not at the match in person then you can follow the action via TNS Radio. The link is on the home page of the website.
