The New Saints of Oswestry Town is extremely pleased to announce the double signing of Dean Ebbe and Kevin Kauber.
Born in Dublin, Ebbe is a 23-year-old striker who began his career at Shamrock Rovers. Playing for a number of teams in his native Ireland – Longford Town, Athlone Town, Cabinteely and Bluebell United – the 6′ 2″ striker then moved across the water to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in 2017.
It was while playing for Bluebell United – where he scored all four goals in a 4-0 victory – that the Inverness coaching representation at the game liked what they saw and signed him.
While with the Scottish side, and playing for the reserves, he scored in nine consecutive games.
We caught up with Dean, fresh from putting pen to paper and you can watch the interview below.
The other signing, Kevin Kauber, is a 22-year-old Estonian who has represented his country at U16/17/19/21 and 23 levels. In addition he made the bench twice for the national senior side, in games against Andorra and Lithuania.
Having played in Finland, Latvia and Slovenia as well as his native Estonia, his personal honours include the Latvian Cup with FK Jelgava in 2015/2016.
Kevin spent the first half of last season in Latvia with the aforementioned Jelgava before moving to Estonia’s FC Levadia. Both clubs ended up in second place in their respective leagues.
Bringing a wealth of experience to Park Hall, the forward has impressed during his time on trial at the club recently.
You can watch Kevin’s debut interview as we chatted with him at Park Hall this afternoon.
Scott Ruscoe expressed his delight at being able to get the signatures:
“We are pleased to finally secure the two players. It will give us attacking options and help improve the squad going forward.
They are both at an age where they are still learning, but have experience playing at a very good level already in their careers. Kevin has played in the top leagues in Estonia and Latvia and scored goals, Dean has already played in the Scottish Premiership at 22.
The refreshing thing for me regarding both players was that there was no hesitation in moving away from home; as soon as an offer was made they were keen to be part of our plans. We have had them in for a few days previously, to have a look at what they bring and I feel they can add healthy competition to the squad.
We wish them all the best and hope they settle in and play a big part until the end of the season.”
In addition, Chief Operating Officer Ian Williams, shared his thoughts on the double signing:
“We are extremely delighted to sign Dean and Kevin, two promising young players with a lot of experience playing in competitive environments in other countries. They will certainly add to the quality of players at the club as we continue to build a squad to keep us at the forefront of the domestic game in Wales.”
Both players go straight into the squad for Saturday’s (January 20 2018) Nathaniel MG Cup final against Cardiff Metropolitan University FC.
