Ahead of this evening’s crucial game with Bala Town, The New Saints of Oswestry Town is extremely pleased to announce that midfielder, Jon Routledge, has signed a new contract with the club.
The news is a boost to the reigning JD Welsh Champions, who are looking to make it seven consecutive titles.
Since arriving at Park Hall, the ex-Wigan Athletic and Dumbarton player has established himself in the side, which for a team that has enjoyed unparalleled success on the pitch in recent years, is no mean feat.
We spoke to Jon after he pledged his immediate future to the club: ”I’m happy that I’ve signed and look forward to keep doing well. Hopefully a few more trophies next season for the lads.”
TNS manager, Scott Ruscoe, expressed his delight at the signing of the contract: “We are really pleased Jon has extended his contract with the club.
His performances over the past two seasons have been at a very high standard and he’s been instrumental in our improvement, and is key to how we play the game.”
Ian Williams, Chief Operating Operator at Park Hall, echoed Scott’s sentiments: “Everyone at the club is delighted that Jon has committed himself for a further period.
Jon has been instrumental in the success the club has enjoyed since he joined a couple of seasons ago and he’s certainly played an important role in the engine room of the team both domestically and in Europe during this period.
His experience and knowledge of the game is key to our continued success.”
