As you may well be aware if you follow our media output regularly, we recently hosted the British Army Women’s Football v Royal Air Force Ladies’ game at Park Hall (March 14, 2018). You can read the report on forces.net.
What you may not know however, is that TNS Ladies’ star Lou Anderson – or to use her full title and attachment, Lance Corporal Louisa Anderson, 237 Squadron, 159 Regiment RLC – almost played (assuming selection, of course) in that fixture but had a prior commitment with our ladies’ side that evening.
With games on the horizon though, Lou is hoping to feature during April: “I’ve recently been selected to represent Corps in the league on Friday, April 13 and the Inter-Corps Cup on Wednesday, April 18. A couple of good performances and I’ll be on track.” she told us, when we chatted with her this week.
Courtesy of the Wolverhampton-born, tough-tackling and no-nonsense central defender, TNS gets a couple of mentions in the Army Reserve official football programme 2018/2019 and you can see those in the accompanying photographs.
Everyone at The New Saints wishes Lou all the very best indeed for her upcoming football adventures – and beyond.
