Tomorrow (Sunday, April 8), following the game against Llandudno at Park Hall, Steve Benyon’s JD Welsh Premier League Development (North) side will officially lift the trophy.
The New Saints sealed the title last weekend with a win against Bala Town, and the date (April 1) is reflected in the headline. Read more here: It’s No Joke As The Professional Phase Win The League With Four From Bower
The presentation is being conducted by Peter Rees, who is a Life Vice-President at the FA Wales.
The game kicks off at 2.00 p.m. and everyone is welcome.
We spoke to Steve Benyon, ahead of the big day and he was naturally excited: “It’s been an incredible season and exactly what the players and club deserve. With the average age of the squad being just 16/17, the future is bright!” he enthused, before continuing:
“I want to welcome all the parents to the game who have been brilliant this season and my staff and players who have brought back the trophy to TNS after it being with Bangor City for the last 2 seasons. We will use the game as preparation for our all-Welsh final on Monday 7th May, whereby I’m sure I will be faced with the difficult task of picking a starting 11 from 21 winners!”
