Monday 9th April and Thursday 12th April are exciting days for the young people attending Gobowen and Weston Rhyn youth clubs, writes Gill Jones.
The clubs are run by The New Saints FC Foundation’s youth and community work team and will be visited on these dates by the club’s first team players*, who recently picked up the Welsh Premier League title for the 7th consecutive season, to launch a T-shirt design competition open to youth club attendees.
Players will play pool football, table tennis and engage in arts and crafts with the young people, and will then launch the competition, which will see the winning T-shirt design being adopted as the Football Club’s official brand new Junior Members Club T-shirt .
The competition winner and all other youth club members will be invited with their families to attend a special evening of celebration at The Venue, Park Hall on Friday 20th April when they will also receive FREE TICKETS to the game TNSFC v Connah’s Quay Nomads. Prior to the game the young people will be hosted at a free bowling session between 6 and 7pm followed by a selection of food before the winner of the T-shirt competition is announced – the winner will receive a VIP goodie bag of prizes on the night.
“We are very proud of the work of our Community Foundation team and the Football Club and thought this was a perfect chance to celebrate together. Our community youth clubs, open to young people aged 10 – 16 years, are proving to be very successful and we are looking forward to seeing the winning T-shirt design!”
