It’s not just the first team at Park Hall that is successful, there’s a winning thread that runs right through the system. In his first season as head of the Professional Phase, Steve Benyon has presided over a squad that has lifted the JD Welsh Premier League Development (North) title, as well as witnessing a pleasing campaign with the Scholarship set-up.
As part of the ongoing building process, the Professional Phase is hosting a trial game next week. As well as current first years such as CJ Craven, who has recently made his JD Welsh Premier League debut with the first team, the likes of Liam Ihekwoaba, who has trained with Scott Ruscoe’s side and made the bench in the recent game at Bala Town, will be involved.
In addition, as well as the cream of the TNS youngster crop, there are a number of players featuring that have been released by various English clubs, including those in the top flight.
In attendance at the game, as well as Steve Benyon and his Professional Phase staff, will be TNS first team manager and assistant manager, Scott Ruscoe and Steve Evans. Not only is it an opportunity to impress Benyon but also a chance to shine before the main management team as well.
The match is strictly invitation only and will be played behind-closed-doors, hence the date is not being publicised. The target age group is 16-18. It’s free, there is no cost involved, and as Steve Benyon said to us when we chatted to him about the event: “We have big plans ahead.”
