Following the two midfield signings in recent days, this time round it’s a defender who puts pen-to-paper, as we welcome Joash Nembhard to Park Hall.
The twenty-year-old joins The New Saints from Staines Town FC, who will be playing in the Evo-Stik League (South) next season due to a transfer from the Isthmian Premier League, following the shake-up of non-league football in England.
Joash had a strong season with the step three side, receiving the Man Of The Match award on his debut against Burgess Hill Town.
The man at the back, who lists central defender as his chosen position, then went on to score from the penalty spot against Wealdstone FC. The goal sent the Swans through to the final of the Middlesex Cup.
Prior to joining Staines Town in July 2017, he spent time at Hendon FC and Chesham United.
Ahead of a full video interview once the players return to training at Park Hall, we chatted briefly with Nembhard to get his thoughts on putting pen-to-paper with the champions of Wales:
“I’m very pleased to sign for TNS and excited for what the future holds for me. I’m looking forward to being involved in European ties and being a part of the ongoing silverware collection that the club seems to be taking part in year after year, trophy after trophy.”
As he adds another piece to the squad jigsaw, Scott Ruscoe commented: “Joash is a player that will give us versatility, someone who’s strong defensively but very good on the ball. He had no hesitation in moving from London to play here full time.”
