As Scott Ruscoe continues to build his squad for the 2018/2019 season, the latest piece of the jigsaw is in place as talented youngster, Kane Lewis, puts pen-to-paper on a deal with the Welsh champions.
While at Brentford FC’s Academy, Kane attracted attention from the likes of Brighton And Hove Albion and Norwich City. However, with Liverpool joining the race for the defender, he opted for a move north.
Impressing Jurgen Klopp, the then teenager signed a professional contract with the Merseyside giants, becoming a regular in the Reds’ Academy. The Liverpool manager was quoted as being impressed with his “positional play and aerial ability”, while “his reading of the game is excellent”.
Described as versatile, Lewis can play anywhere across the back with the ability to slot in at either centre-half or right-back, thus bringing flexibility into the set-up here at Park Hall.
Speaking to us, following his signing for The New Saints, the twenty-year-old enthused: “I am very pleased to have finally put pen to paper with this amazing club and to see what the future holds. I’m looking forward to the Champions League qualifiers and being a part of an ongoing trophy-winning club. I can’t wait to get started”.
Scott Ruscoe commented: “It’s a very good signing for the football club, a versatile defender with excellent pedigree even at such a young age. Comfortable in possession and will give us lots of options at the back.”
Finally, Kane, welcome to Park Hall.
