Thinking Ahead As We Visit Cardiff City Stadium

Due to a combination of UEFA stadium requirements and availability, or lack of, other possible venues, if The New Saints get past Lincoln Red Imps then the home tie of the next round will be played at the Cardiff City Stadium.

If we do make it into the next stage of the UEFA Europa League (qualifying round 3), then there will be a turnaround of less than a week. Therefore, TNS’ Chief Operating Officer, Ian Williams, made a visit to the capital of Wales to meet with Cardiff City’s Stadium Manager, Wayne Nash, to view the facilities and discuss arrangements.

As well as Wayne, meetings were held with the ticketing, catering and supporter liaison heads of departments as well as two officers from South Wales Police who deal specifically with games at the stadium.

All went very well and we would like to thank Cardiff City for the warm welcome. From seating to pre-game training we now have details to implement.

The game in the capital, should we qualify, will be on Thursday, August 9.
