Up bright and early this morning – and definitely before the lark – we set off from Manchester Airport en route to Gibraltar. All was going very well until we reached the airspace around the British Overseas Territory itself.
A combination of wind and low cloud meant that we were forced to head to Malaga in Spain to land. It added a considerable time to the journey but we eventually made it to the hotel.
The players trained tonight at Victoria Stadium, the venue for tomorrow’s game against the champions of Gibraltar, Lincoln Red Imps. There is a good mood in the camp and confidence levels are high.
Although we have some very picturesque grounds in Wales, the Gibraltarian national stadium is in an exceptional setting. Especially when you take shots with the rock in them, it really does provide a perfect backdrop.
We have posted numerous photographs today. View them on the Facebook album that we have created.
