The JD Welsh Premier League makes its long awaited return this weekend, as The New Saints get things underway with the visit of Barry Town United.
The match offers an immediate chance for Scott Ruscoe’s side to bounce back from Thursday’s Europa League defeat against FC Midtjylland.
In his press conferences this week, the TNS boss suggested that he would be making changes to his starting XI against the side from the south coast, as he looks to keep the team fresh following recent European excursions.
The Saints will be hoping to avoid two things on Sunday.
The first is a repeat of last season’s opening weekend. A 5-2 defeat at Bangor City left many people wondering if there’d be a fresh name on the trophy last season, but after bouncing back perfectly, TNS ensured that wasn’t to be the case.
The second thing is a repeat of last year’s home match with Barry, losing 1-0 in the corresponding fixture back in November of last year.
If you can’t make it to Park Hall on Sunday, the game will be live on TNS Radio, with the link being found on the homepage of our website.
We will be on air a few minutes before the 2:30pm kickoff.
The officials are referee Dean John with Phil Roszkowski and James Shiels the assistants. The fourth official is Tom Owen.
