Liverpool under-23s were the opposition this afternoon, as The New Saints made the trip to the Liverpool Academy in Kirby.
The behind-closed-doors friendly against Liverpool is the third such match Scott Ruscoe’s side have played this summer, having faced the V9 Academy in June and Rangers in July.
As with both of those games, FAW regulations prevent us from releasing details of the score.
The match provided a good opportunity for all players to get much needed minutes, and to attempt to plant themselves in the forefront of the mind of Scott Ruscoe, with a busy period of games coming up.
We interviewed both Scott and goalkeeper Connor Roberts after the final whistle. Both of those can be viewed below.
Thanks to Liverpool FC and the Liverpool Academy for their hospitality today.
