Although not in JD Welsh Premier League (JD WPL) action over the weekend, The New Saints of Oswestry Town go into the game on Tuesday, September 11 2018 still in pole position.
With nine points from four games, Scott Ruscoe’s side has a goal difference of plus 12, which is greater than that of all the other JD WPL teams with a plus figure combined (10).
In addition, as well as scoring freely at the one end (14) the defence is also the tightest, with just two goals conceded at the other.
By contrast, the visitors to Park Hall have found the net six times this season but have been beaten on seven occasions. Their tally of six points from four games has them two points away from the relegation trapdoor, yet just one win off the top.
Last season saw the sides play each other twice in the league, with a narrow 2-1 victory on the road in October giving TNS the three points. This was followed two months later by a resounding 4-0 win at Park Hall, as Greg Draper scored a hat-trick.
The officials for the game are as follows: Cheryl Foster (referee), Andy Harms and Gareth Wyn Jones (assistant referees), Huw Jones (4th official) and Rodger Clifford (observer).
The kick-off is 7.45 p.m. and if you are at the game then check out our pre-match video footage on the main screen in The Venue.
