With an extended break for The New Saints, it’s back to JD Welsh Premier League action on Wednesday, October 17, when Llandudno visit Park Hall.
Going into the game in second place behind Connah’s Quay Nomads, the leaders themselves are in action the day before (Tuesday, October 16) when they host Cefn Druids.
In addition, on Friday just gone (October 12 2018), Newtown AFC had the opportunity to draw level on points with The New Saints. However, a very late goal from Bala Town secured a 3-2 victory for the Lakesiders, who themselves moved into third.
It’s certainly been musical chairs as far as the spot is concerned because, following the weekend’s fixtures, Barry Town United’s 1-0 win against Carmarthen Town saw them leapfrog Colin Caton’s side and end MD 10 on level points with The New Saints but with a far inferior goal difference.
Back to the Llandudno game and the visitors, who feature the likes of ex-TNS stars Kai Edwards and Matty Williams, find themselves at the wrong end of the table as far as they are concerned.
Just one place above the relegation trapdoor, they are 11 points behind The New Saints with a goal difference of minus-5 compared to plus-20.
Iwan Williams has his defence well-organised though with just 11 conceded. However, it’s the strikeforce that is struggling at the moment. Having found the net on just six occasions so far this season, they are easily the league’s lowest goalscorers.
The New Saints will be in the familiar green and white hooped shirts, white shorts and white socks. The goalkeeper will be in a blue and orange shirt, blue shorts and blue socks.
The officials are as follows: Nick Pratt (referee), Andy Harms and Gareth Wyn Jones (assistants), Tom Owen (4th official) and Nathan Brearley (observer). The kick-off is 7.45 p.m.
Admission charges are as follows: £8 / £4 / £1.
