Talented Park Hall youngster, Ben Clark, has joined Llandudno FC on loan. The deal, initially short term till the New Year, will give Ben the opportunity to get valuable minutes at top flight level in Welsh domestic football.
Ironically, Clark scored against his new temporary hosts in Tuesday’s Nathaniel MG Cup victory. Following on from a Danny Redmond brace, his 44th minute goal effectively put paid to the home side’s chances of getting back into the game.
The New Saints went on to win the tie 5-0 and progress into the semi-finals.
Interviewing TNS FC’s manager, Scott Ruscoe, this afternoon, he spoke of the importance of the move for Ben’s development.
“Looking at the players in front of him, we’re very strong in that area and I have lots of selection headaches anyway.”
“He’s the youngest member of the squad, and has got lots of potential, but he needs games. We saw the other night how good he was and that’s what has escalated the loan deal.”
“They’ve had a good look at him. He was one of the best players on the pitch; he was composed and they (Llandudno FC) feel that he can add something to their team and give them some options.”
“It will be good for Ben, hopefully he will get minutes week in and week out; We will assess it and have a look at him in a first-team environment in a strong league.”
We also chatted with Clark himself, ahead of the move being made public: “I’m really looking forward to joining Llandudno FC on loan; they’re a good team with plenty of experience.”
“Having played against them on Tuesday, I can see that they play very positively with high energy and intensity. I hope that I can add something to the team and can’t wait to get started away at Barry Town United on Sunday.”
