This Friday (November 9, 2018) after three consecutive away games, it’s back to Park Hall for the champions of Wales as we host Caernarfon Town FC in the JD Welsh Premier League (JD WPL).
Going into the fixture, following just one point from the last two games, The New Saints occupy third spot. Two points behind Connah’s Quay Nomads and Barry Town United, who are separated by just goal difference at the top, it’s a crucial game for the current JD WPL champions.
With the top two going head-to-head on Saturday (November 10, 2018) afternoon, it’s an opportunity for Scott Ruscoe’s side to reclaim pole position, albeit briefly. However, a win for the Saints, followed by a draw at Deeside Stadium would ensure that, come the conclusion of MD14, it would be green and white leading the way.
Back in the top flight after winning the Huws Gray Cymru Alliance in 2017/2018 – where they lost just one league game all season – The Canaries are currently on a run of six games without a victory.
To bring that into perspective though, there has been just two defeats in that period, with draws against Bala Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads included in the stalemates.
The last time Sean Eardley’s side picked up all three points was on September 22, 2018, when they defeated south Walians, Llanelli AFC. Two second half goals from Danny Brookwell and Jamie Breese (58 and 69 minutes respectively) were enough to see off their opponents.
The New Saints will be wearing the familiar kit of green and white hooped shirts, white shorts and white socks. The goalkeeper will be in a blue and orange shirt with blue shorts and blue socks.
Admission to Park Hall is £8 (adults) / £4 (concessions) / £1 (under 16). Kick-off is 7.45 p.m.
The officials are as follows: Mark Petch (referee), Andy Harms and Martin Roberts (assistants) and Cheryl Foster (4th official).
