For the second cup tie on the bounce, The New Saints FC will again be on the road taking on south Walian opponents. Following today’s JD Welsh Cup draw, featuring Wales internationals Ethan Ampadu and David Brooks, we will be travelling to Cwmbran in the third round.
With a trip to Cambrian & Clydach Vale BGC in the Nathaniel MG Cup scheduled for November 23, two weeks later we will be taking on fellow Welsh league Division One side Cwmbran Celtic in third round JD Welsh Cup action.
Cwmbran Celtic are currently in 4th place in the league, separated by just goal difference from Cambrian & Clydach, who sit in third, with both teams on seventeen points.
In the third round draw courtesy of a 3-1 win on the road at Sully Sports, The Celts reached the quarter-final stage of the JD Welsh Cup in 2015/2016 losing to then top-flight side, Port Talbot Town.
TNS FC were the winners of the competition that season, which was the last time we lifted the trophy.
The game between Cwmbran Celtic and The New Saints FC will take place at Celtic Park, Cwmbran. The date will be confirmed in due course with December 7/ 8 / 9 as the options.
