Mixed Results For The EDS Squads But Seventh Heaven For Tom Williams

Jason Brindley and Simon Smith made the short trip up north to face Coleg Cambria, without key players due to injuries and first team commitments, writes Steve Benyon.

The EDS (Elite Development Squad) 1 boys dominated the game (lead image), creating endless opportunities but found themselves unable to convert, with the bar and poor finishing saving the home side. We were then unfortunately punished with a dubious offside goal for Coleg Cambria in the 80th minute, to end the game 1-0 to the hosts.

The EDS 2 squad however enjoyed themselves in front of goal to cement their place firmly at the top of the table, with a resounding 12-0 victory for the side, led by Kieran Lee-Birch and me.

Goals from Tom Williams (7) Owen Jones, Alex Brownhill, Harry Woledge and Robbie Williams (2) made it an enjoyable day out for the young Saints, who played some brilliant football considering the conditions and opposition that they faced.

Bala Town Preview

Sunday (November 18) sees the young Saints take on Bala Town at Park Hall in the JD Welsh Premier Development League (North), with a 2.00 p.m kick-off time.

We will be looking to keep the pressure on Cefn Druids, who we still have a game in hand on. The fixture will prove to be a difficult test but one with which we will prepare accordingly to try and achieve the aim of securing 3 points. The team will be lead by Simon Smith and Connor Roberts.
