After Nathaniel MG Cup excursions for both sides last week, it’s back to JD Welsh Premier League (JD WPL) action for The New Saints FC and Cardiff Metropolitan University FC this coming Saturday (December 1, 2018).
The game heralds the halfway stage in the league, with Scott Ruscoe’s side just one point off leaders, Connah’s Quay Nomads. Christian Edwards, although buoyed by the victory on Deeside that puts his team in the Nathaniel MG Cup final, nevertheless will be disappointed with the showing so far.
Currently lying in 8th place with seventeen points, The Archers are closer to relegation than they are to the title, as they are thirteen points off the top but just seven clear of Llanelli Town AFC in 11th.
Since beating The New Saints 4-1 at Cyncoed Campus back in September, Cardiff Met have registered just one victory in the JD WPL, a 2-0 win at Stebonheath Park.
Their current league form sees them on a run of three consecutive defeats, while TNS have one win and two losses to show for the last three games.
Kick-off at Park Hall is 2.30 p.m. and admission charges are £8 (adults), £4 (concessions) and £1 (U-16).
The New Saints will be in the familiar kit of green and white hooped shirts, white shorts and white socks. The goalkeeper will be wearing a blue and orange shirt, blue shorts and blue socks.
The officials are as follows: Dean John (referee), John Bryant and Lewis Edwards (assistants), Cheryl Foster (4th official) and Dave Fawkes (observer).
