Bala Town v The New Saints FC – Match Preview

With both The New Saints FC and Bala Town in JD Welsh Cup action over the weekend – albeit The Lakesiders’ participation halted temporarily due to floodlight failure at Flint Town United – it’s back to the league this coming Friday (December 14, 2018).

Maes Tegid plays host to the JD Welsh Premier League (JD WPL) fixture that carries importance for both sides. With the league at the halfway stage, Scott Ruscoe’s team sits in third place while Colin Caton’s Bala Town are looking over their shoulder in fourth.

It’s all very tight at the top though with just six points separating five clubs. A win for The New Saints – depending on other results – could see them head back to the top of the pile, while three points for Bala would draw them level with the reigning JD WPL champions.

Both sides have current form that they will be keen to see improve, with TNS’ five points from as many games only marginally bettered by Bala’s seven from five.
