We go back to the autumn of last year – and September 14 to be precise – for the last time that the two teams met. The JD Welsh Premier League fixture at Stebonheath Park saw just one change from the side that beat Aberystwyth Town 6-0 three days earlier, as Danny Redmond came in for Jamie Mullan.
The starting line-up consisted of Paul Harrison, Chris Marriott, Joash Nembhard, Blaine Hudson, Simon Spender, Tom Holland, Jon Routledge, Adrian Cieslewicz, Aeron Edwards, Danny Redmond and Dean Ebbe.
On the bench for reigning league champions were: Connor Roberts, Ben Cabango, Greg Draper, Jamie Mullan, Josh Hmami, Kurtis Byrne and Kane Lewis.
The visitors got off to a great start, as Aeron Edwards slotted home in the ninth minute, following some impressive football in the box.
The TNS FC dominance was again rewarded in the final minute of the first half. A ball in from Jon Routledge was turned into his own net by Thomas.
Although it was more of the same in the second period, Scott Ruscoe’s side were unable to add to the goals scored and the final whistle saw The New Saints take the points in a 2-0 victory. The clean sheet was the fourth consecutive game in the league that the defence had remained intact.
