After a break of two weeks, it’s back to JD Welsh Premier League action for The New Saints of Oswestry Town with a visit to Maes Tegid on Thursday, January 31.
The game against Bala Town marks the beginning of phase two, as the teams break into the Championship Conference (top six) and Play-Off Conference (bottom six).
Sitting in second place, the incentive for Scott Ruscoe’s side is that they can go back to the top of the pile by avoiding defeat, although it’s true to say that no-one is looking for a draw. The current form and confidence within the camp is confirmed and reinforced by Scott, as he looks to take all three points from the game.
That confidence is warranted due to the rich vein of form that The New Saints finds itself in. With four games played in all competitions in 2019, the side enjoys a 100% record. You have to go back to November 23, 2018 to find the last time that TNS tasted defeat. Since then, the nine games played have seen seven wins and two draws.
By contrast, Colin Caton’s Lakesiders have struggled of late and their JD Welsh Cup victory last weekend at Haverfordwest County was their first win in 2019, having been beaten on all three outings in the JD Welsh Premier League this year.
The New Saints will be in blue / blue / blue with the goalkeeper wearing grey and pink / grey / grey.
Kick-off is 7.45 p.m. and there will be supporters’ transport to the game with more details here. If you can’t make the match then, as always, you can follow the action on TNS Radio, with the link here on the home page of our website.
