In what is arguably the biggest game of the JD Welsh Premier League (JD WPL) season to date, the top two go head-to-head at Deeside Stadium on Saturday, March 9, 2019.
With the Nomads enjoying a two-point advantage over the reigning champions – but with The New Saints having a game in hand – the stakes are high for both sides. A win for either would put them in the driving seat as the title race nears its conclusion, whereas a draw would most certainly ensure that the tension continues beyond MD27.
Although Andy Morrison’s side edge the JD WPL on points, it’s Scott Ruscoe’s team who have the upper-hand as far as statistics are concerned. With 73 goals scored and just 14 conceded, TNS’ goal difference of 59 dwarfs that of the opponents, who have scored less (69) and conceded more (27), giving them a goal difference of 42.
While the visitors have an impressive record going into the game, with a run of one hundred plus days since last tasting defeat, The Nomads have dropped four points so far in 2019, with a defeat at Carmarthen Town and a draw against Barry Town United.
The Linnets have also been responsible for ending The New Saints’ 100% 2019 record, with a 2-2 draw at Park Hall.
The kick-off time is 5.15 p.m. and the game will be shown live on S4C. In addition, as always, TNS Radio will be bringing commentary, with the link here on our website home page.
