Following last Sunday’s JD Welsh Cup win, there’s more cause for celebration for TNS fans this afternoon.
With both Champions League finalists, Liverpool and Tottenham, finishing in the top four of the English Premier League, The New Saints are now guaranteed to finish in one of the 16 seeded spots when the draw for the first qualifying round takes place on June 18th.
This will be the second consecutive year that The Saints will be seeded in the first qualifying round, following the restructuring of the competition in 2018.
It also means that Scott Ruscoe’s side will avoid the likes of former winners, Celtic and Red Star Belgrade, as well as BATE Borisov and Qarabag, who’ve reached the group stage in recent seasons.
Keep checking our website in the coming weeks, as we’ll bring you a full rundown of potential opponents once everything has been finalised.
