The Latest TNS FC Academy News With Jason Brindley

What a week for all involved with The New Saints FC. Over the bank holiday weekend, our first team completed a fantastic double, securing the JD Welsh Cup to go alongside the JD Welsh Premier League, writes Jason Brindley.

The final was played at The Rock, Cefn Druids, and had a great attendance of Academy youngsters supporting our first team.

Our first team certainly didn’t disappoint, with a great performance against Connah’s Quay Nomads.

This week just past we have confirmed the position of Head Of Coaching and I’m delighted that first team player Chris Seargeant will be working closely with our aspiring players.

As well as Sarge, we have extended the roles for Kieran, Danny and Simon into full time positions, overlooking all elements of our Youth Development Programme.

We are extremely excited at the restructure and having so many top staff in full time positions can help us concentrate fully on the development of our players.

Also this past week we have hosted our first open trials date for the upcoming season. The standard was superb across the board. Its crazy, one season ends and the following week the next one starts. We are very excited though at working with our new groups and the new players coming in. All squads are looking in great positions, with another week of trials ahead.

Over the weekend, we had games across the board for our youngsters.

Our Foundation Phase travelled to Newtown for football festivals. There were some superb teams, all games played in great spirit. We thank Newtown for hosting.

Our Development Phase travelled to Hereford United for their end of season awards ceremony. We were delighted to have been invited for what was an occasion with their close of season presentations.

The games were played on their first team pitch, which was immaculate. It was a beautiful day and we thank Hereford for the invitation.

As we conclude the week, football is 24-7, 52 weeks of the year. It never stops. And neither do we. Our love of the beautiful game and the continued improvement of our club will keep us working hard all the time. You can’t stand still. Already our staff are hard at work behind the scenes looking at areas of improvement.

There are exciting times ahead for our Academy, and everyone involved with The New Saints FC.
