Following on from last weekend’s 4-1 victory against Ynys Môn, it’s back to business again this coming Saturday (June 15, 2019), when we welcome the Pro Elite Ethical Football Academy (PEEFA) to Park Hall.
PEEFA is a professional football academy that works with players both in the English system and overseas. Individuals are developed within the set-up, which then becomes a resource pool for clubs, with the intention of players earning a contract in the game.
The team playing at Park Hall will be managed by Pascal Chimbonda. A former Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) English Premier League Player Of The Season, and League Cup winner with Tottenham Hotspur, the defender has one French international cap, courtesy of a late appearance against Denmark in 2006.
Heading up the Professional Phase Development with PEEFA, Chimbonda also works with BBC and PFA, as he continues his involvement in football following a career that embraced the likes of Blackburn Rovers, Sunderland and Wigan Athletic.
The PEEFA / JD Welsh Premier League connection saw Joel Bembo Leta play for Bangor City a couple of seasons ago, as he helped the side finish second in the league.
In addition, Cefn Druids’ and Zimbabwe midfielder, Alec Mudimu, is also a product of the academy.
Back to the game on Saturday, The New Saints FC will be wearing green and white hooped shirts, white shorts and socks, while the opposition will be in all white. Kick-off is 2.00 p.m. and admission is free.
