With the UEFA Champions League first qualifying round draw now just six days away, The New Saints will soon discover the destination of their next European adventure.
For the second year in a row, Scott Ruscoe’s side will be one of the 16 seeded sides next Tuesday in Nyon, offering the advantage of avoiding a number of big name clubs.
Each seeded team will be paired with an unseeded one, creating 16 first qualifying round ties. Take a look at each of our potential opponents in the list below.
- BATE Borisov
- Ludogorets Razgrad
- Red Star Belgrade
- Sheriff Tiraspol
- F91 Dudelange
- The New Saints
- Slovan Bratislava
- Winners of preliminary round [Feronikeli, Lincoln Red Imps, Tre Penne, Santa Coloma]
- Piast Gliwice
- CFR Cluj
- Nõmme Kalju
- Sutjeska Nikšić
- HB Tórshavn
- Riga FC
- Saburtalo Tbilisi
Ahead of the draw on Tuesday at 11am, it’s expected that UEFA will further divide the clubs in to smaller seeded and unseeded groups, but there’s no way of predicting what these pairings could be. Last season there were two groups of five and one of six – that’s expected to be revealed at some point on Monday.
