The Wait Goes On To Learn Our Champions League Opponent

The draw for this season’s UEFA Champions League first qualifying round was made this afternoon, but The New Saints will have to wait a little while longer before they learn their opponent.

Scott Ruscoe’s side were the fourth team drawn from group three and were paired with the winners of the preliminary round. That means a potential clash with any of the clubs taking part in the four-team mini-tournament in the Kosovan capital of Prishtina next week.

The pairings for the tournament are:

  • Feronikeli (Kosovo) vs Lincoln Red Imps (Gibraltar)
  • Tre Penne (San Marino) vs FC Santa Coloma (Andorra)

The two winning semi-finalists compete in the final (also held in Kosovo), on June 28th, with The Saints facing the eventual winner.

It’ll be a home leg first for TNS on either July 9th or July 10th, with the return meeting away from home on either July 16th/17th.

More details, including how to purchase your UEFA Champions League tickets, will be available on our website shortly.
