With three points and a clean sheet following the opening weekend’s JD Cymru Premier victory at Park Hall against Caernarfon Town, it’s on the road this coming Friday (August 23, 2019) for The New Saints FC. The visit to Maes Tegid witnesses two sides with a 100% record go head-to-head, as Bala Town beat Airbus UK 2-1 at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium on MD1.
Although early days yet, the second v fourth clash, offers the incentive for either team to continue their winning start to the campaign and put valuable points on the board.
The Lakesiders have been busy in the transfer market during the summer with the likes of Anthony Miley, Ian Sheridan and Steven Tames departing Maes Tegid and half a dozen going the opposite way.
Featuring in all of Bala’s pre-season games, Josh Tibbetts did enough to impress and earn a contract. The twenty-one-year old goalkeeper spent eleven years at Birmingham City before joining Peterborough United.
More familiar faces for fans of JD Cymru Premier football are Steve Leslie and Jonny Spittle, who spent last season at Newtown AFC and Connah’s Quay Nomads respectively.
Completing the additions to the squad are Lassana Mendes, Lee Molyneux and Louis Robles.
The game has a 7.45 p.m. kick-0ff time with admission charges of £6 (adults), £3 (concessions) and £1 (children). You can pay on the turnstile and there is parking immediately alongside the ground for 100 cars.
If you’re not there in person you can follow the game on TNS Radio. The link is here on our website.
