This Saturday (October 12, 2019) sees The New Saints FC welcome Airbus UK Broughton to Park Hall in the JD Cymru Premier. The MD10 game has a 2.30 p.m. kick-off time and is an opportunity for Scott Ruscoe’s side to get back on track, following back-to-back league defeats.
Victory against Barry Town United a fortnight ago would have sent the reigning champions to the top of the pile. Unfortunately, a 1-0 reversal, followed by an identical score in the next game at Caernarfon Town, means that TNS is currently in fourth place. With Cardiff Metropolitan University FC having a game in hand, that is potentially fifth spot.
However, with seven points separating the leading six, it’s all very tight at the top. While the neutral may be relishing the open nature of the league at the moment, for everyone at The New Saints it’s about turning the corner and pushing on.
Scott Ruscoe will be looking not only for his side to get back to winning ways but also to return to the habit of keeping the clean sheets that we witnessed last season. This time round, since the opening weekend of the 2019/2020 campaign, the side has gone ten games, in all competitions, in which at least one goal has been conceded.
The officials for the game are Dean John (referee), John Bryant and Bryn Jones (assistant referees) and Nathan Bartram (fourth official).
The New Saints will be in green and white with the goalkeeper in red.
