Match Preview, As The New Saints FC Travel To Pen-y-Bont FC

This coming Saturday (October 19), the reigning JD Cymru Premier champions are in south Wales action, with Pen-y-Bont FC the opponent.

With last week’s 6-2 victory against Airbus UK Broughton ensuring that The New Saints ended the weekend in second spot, Scott Ruscoe’s side will be looking to continue where they left off.

On the other hand, The Bont, who are currently in a relegation place, will be looking to take advantage of the fact that TNS FC’s current form shows just two wins in the last five league games.

Leading the goals scored so far this season, The New Saints has found the net 29 times in the JD Cymru Premier. Although considerably behind with 12 goals, Pen-y-Bont have the same number as Caernarfon Town and are just two behind leaders, Barry Town United.

With 22 goals conceded though, only Aberystwyth Town (30) and Carmarthen Town (23) have leaked more than TNS’ south Walian opponent.

The MD11 game has a 2.30 p.m. kick-off time and there is supporters’ transport organised. Contact wayne.greenshields@tnsfcfoundation.org.uk for more details.
